Compensation: $70,000 - $75,000/annually, plus benefits

The Astor Place Theatre is a historic Off-Broadway venue in the heart of Greenwich Village. No Guarantees Productions, through NG Astor LLC, is excited to be building a dedicated team to transform the Astor Place Theatre into a dynamic cultural hub for a variety of new and innovative theatrical productions. We are revitalizing the theatre to host a new generation of productions while honoring the venue’s legacy, and looking for professionals to help us create a welcoming and memorable experience for our guests, artists, and staff.

Position Overview
The Facilities and Operations Coordinator is a hands-on position responsible for the daily physical operations of the Astor Place Theatre, with a focus on facility needs and stage door management. This individual will perform routine maintenance tasks, monitor building safety, and be the primary point of contact for staff and visitors at the stage door. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong ability to manage a wide range of tasks and ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of the theatre. We are seeking a highly motivated and versatile professional to assist in the day-to-day operations of the theatre's physical space, ensuring a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment for our guests, artists, and staff. Key Responsibilities

Facility Operations:​

Perform and coordinate routine building maintenance and repairs, including basic electrical, plumbing, IT infrastructure, and HVAC tasks, liaising with building management, as needed.

Conduct daily inspections to ensure all areas of the theatre are clean, safe, and functioning properly.

Help manage a preventative maintenance program.

Liaise with external contractors and building management for major repairs and capital projects, assisting with scheduling and access.

Oversee custodial and janitorial services, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the venue.

Monitor and coordinate with building management to help maintain the theatre's security systems, including CCTV, alarms, fire suppression systems, and access control.

Stage Door Operations:

Serve as the primary stage door attendant and point of contact, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment.

Control and monitor access to the theatre, granting entry only to authorized personnel.

Enforce security protocols and procedures.

Receive and log all deliveries, packages, and mail, ensuring they are securely stored and distributed to the appropriate departments.

Collaboration:

Work closely with management to coordinate facility needs with production and event schedules.

Other Responsibilities:

Position may require work outside of normal business hours to accommodate the demands of a theatrical venue, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

Additional duties as needed or directed.

Qualifications
-
Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities, operations, or a similar hands-on role, preferably in a theatre, entertainment venue, or other public space.

Familiarity with building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life, general theatre safety).

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and calmly with others.

A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently.

Must be comfortable being the first and/or last person in the theatre.

Promptness is critical in this role.

Knowledge of NYC Fire and Building codes is a plus.

Successful applicant must have, or will need to obtain a FDNY S-95 (Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems) certificate of fitness as a condition of employment, with certificate fee to be covered.
